Tips for Pet Care in Winter

During the winter season can be a dangerous time for pets and need special care and attention at this time. First, make sure that if your pet is sleeping outdoors, has a warm place to sleep in animals succumbing to extremely cold weather and the risk of catching a cold. If your dog’s kennel is small enough just to reach her room, turn around and lie down, probably warm in winter.

Second, make sure your pet is drinking enough fluids and eat a nutritious meal that the cold may lead to dehydration. Give your dog or cat with a bowl of hot water as often as possible. Third, your pet can suffer from dry skin due to dry air in the winter. An effective way to solve this problem is to brush frequently, try oatmeal shampoo or provide your pet with fatty acid supplements. Fourth, make sure your car has no cats or other animals that sleep under it.

Fifthly, some types of antifreeze chemicals used on sidewalks and cars can have disastrous consequences for your pet. Pets can be poisoned to death, such as chemicals and you should keep them safe from practice to wash the feet after the trip out of town. Sixth, your pet can cause damage to his tongue, getting stuck in the metal bucket or bowl of very cold weather. To avoid this in winter, change the plastic or ceramic bowl to minimize the threat to your pet.
